Welcome to September, can't believe it's Fall already!
We kick off September with Mercury in shadow. Mercury will soon join Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in the gang of retrogrades.
Mars in Gemini is also sextile to Jupiter on the 1st of September. This gives a very powerful and enthusiastic boost as Mars is about action and Jupiter is about optimism, happiness, luck, and money.
Keep in mind this Fall will be special because Mars will retrograde and that only happens every 2 years. Mars will be in Gemini for an extended amount of time due to this retrograde period.
I would definitely check if you have placement in Mutable Signs (Virgo, Sagittarius, Gemini, and Pisces) as these will be impacted during September.
Mercury is trine to Mars and opposite Jupiter through September 4th. Mercury in Libra and Mars in Gemini is a great combo for meeting new people and getting the right connections.
The real main attraction of September is of course Mercury Retrograde in Libra. September 10th - October 2nd Mercury will be Retrograde. Remember there is a shadow period on either side.
Shadow period just means a planet is already slowing down and isn't at its full capacity.
Mercury is ruled by Virgo and Gemini. It represents communication, contracts, agreements, and electronics.
Mercury Retrograde is known for being annoying because you'll notice some malfunctioning with electronics and delays. Things don't seem to go the way you planned so definitely prepare for that.
The issues with electronics is going to be a little heightened because Saturn and Uranus are squaring this month as well. Reason being, Saturn is in Aquarius - which rules technology. Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius and is a little chaotic especially in a challenging aspect.
Mercury in Libra during this retrograde period is going to be heavily focused on relationships. Libra rules the 7th house of marriage, relationships, and business partnerships.
Mercury Retrograde is pretty notorious for ex's coming back around - because Mercury rules communication and the retrograde is about re-reviewing things. Re-visiting something from the past.
In Libra, this is going to be even stronger so I would expect to hear from ex's and past relationships (friendships & family).
Intuitively the energy of this period feels like our opportunity to get rid of karmic cycles. To finally release old relationships or soul ties that are keeping us stuck in our life.
Pay attention to the shadow work themes that come up this month. When I did my September monthly readings - every period had some past issues surface during the month.
I believe this resurfacing is serving the purpose of finally letting go of things that no longer serve us. Allow these endings to happen, don't cling to things that aren't working.
If you snagged a mercury retrograde oil from my last sale - this will help you so much during this period. As always there's a few rules of thumb during this transit -
- Avoid signing contracts (new car, new lease, marriage, etc)
- Avoid buying anything super expensive (especially electronics)
- Understand that starting anything new, it will change once Mercury goes direct
Look - here's the thing... life goes on right? If you have to do things during Mercury Retrograde - life happens.
Since Libra rules beauty and relationships I would double down on avoiding starting a new relationship, dating (new people), getting married, or any new cosmetic procedures.
Once Mercury goes direct things will change. As long as you're aware of that you're welcome to make your own decisions. I don't micromanage my life based on astrology I just try to avoid stressful/complicated situations when I can.
If you're going to buy a car during Mercury Retrograde I would rather you buy something used instead of new. Mercury Retrograde is good for going back to something already done. Not so great for something new.
The same day as Mercury Retrograde we have a Full Moon in Pisces. Full Moons are when the Sun (in Virgo) exactly opposes the Moon (Pisces) - each month.
This Full Moon is sextile to Uranus in Taurus. Pisces represents healing, spirituality, and our subconscious. Taurus is about our comforts, values, self-worth, money, and finances.
Remember, Full Moons are best for releasing. Kind of perfect that this Full Moon falls right when Mercury is going Retrograde. No coincidences.
Any positive aspects to Uranus can bring a rush of change and excitement. Some type of epiphany in the areas of your birth chart ruled by Pisces and Taurus.
The house that's ruled by Taurus in your birth chart has so many themes this year, it's been a HUGE focus for you! You can figure this out by running your birth chart and making sure you calculate your rising sign.
Depending on your chart - for example - if you have Scorpio rising (like me) - Taurus rules your 7th house of marriage, business partnerships, and relationships.
This is very important to know because the North Node is also conjunct Uranus right now and transiting this same part of your chart.
The North & South Nodes are important because they follow the eclipses every 18 months and this is where you have HUGE breakthroughs and changes.
We will have our next round of eclipses in October so I'll talk more about that later - I'm getting ahead of myself LOL
This Full Moon in Pisces is also sextile the North Node - which creates very FATED events. The North Node is the direction our soul should be going in.
North Node in Taurus is about our abundance, prosperity, comfort, security, self-worth, and values. How can we readjust these areas of our life and bring more of this energy in?
The Pisces Full Moon is also trine to Lilith in Cancer. Such nurturing sensitive divine feminine energy. Cancer focuses on home and family but with Lilith this can be about setting healthy boundaries.
Where are you giving away your power by putting the needs of others above your own? How can you nurture your loved ones without abandoning your own needs?
On September 11th, the Sun in Virgo trines Uranus in Taurus. All this Earth energy can really put the focus on our tasks and wealth. This can be fantastic energy for business ventures.
A another BIG moment this month is Saturn squaring over to Uranus again. I say again because this originally happened in December of 2021 and because these planets moved apart this aspect got less intense.
With the retrograde of Uranus and Saturn they are coming together again.
Saturn square Uranus is about restricted change. Either changes you don't seem to want or be ready for - or changes you DO want can be a little more challenging. Doesn't mean good things can't happen - but with Saturn involved you're going to have to put in the work.
This isn't the astrology where things just fall into your lap. You need to start taking action and making the steps toward your goals. Saturn pushes us to be disciplined and we're in it for the long haul. We are creating a long-term foundation.
Sept 16th Venus in Virgo will square over to Mars in Gemini. Venus entered Virgo at the beginning of the month and this can create a more critical approach to love and finances. This aspect can make us feel like we're under the microscope. Also energy that favors lots of anxiety and frustration with Mars involved - especially in relationships.
The Sun also begins to oppose Neptune. This can be a very draining influence. Depleting our energy and leaving us feeling very tired. Listen to your body around this time and remember to cleanse yourself.
On the 17th Venus will also begin to square Mars leading to more relationship drama haha I would try and avoid arguments and really heavy conversations - with Mercury Retrograde things might not be received correctly.
The good news, the following day on Sept 18th - Mercury starts to oppose Jupiter making us very optimistic - maybe too much LOL
Avoid making promises when Mercury is in this aspect to Jupiter - we tend to stretch the truth. The Sun also makes a trine to Pluto in Capricorn. Virgo and Capricorn energy combined is a powerhouse. This is definitely a boost to our confidence and ability to change and adapt.
Sept 19th - Venus trines over to Uranus in Taurus. Expect the unexpected when it comes to relationships and finances. You could receive some news or a new idea around these matters. In a positive aspect to Uranus these are usually happy surprises. It's time to switch things up and step out of our comfort zones.
Sept 23rd - Mercury goes back into Virgo. This will heighten the energy of Mercury Retrograde as Mercury is ruled by Virgo. This can also increase anxiety and stress because Virgo is critical and hyper focused on staying in control.
I would recommend grounding each day and doing meditation to keep your mind calm. It doesn't help us to stress over things we can't control. Not to mention when Mercury goes direct things will change. Best to wait out the energy before making HUGE decisions.
Sept 24th - Venus in Virgo opposes Neptune in Pisces. This can be a very delusional aspect. Make sure to find a balance between what you WANT to see versus what is really there.
Reality can be blurred during this time due to the harsh aspects to Neptune and Mercury Retrograde. We're operating in our subconscious. Stay grounded and use your intuition.
The New Moon in Libra is on September 25th. Again, more focus on our relationships and love. Big theme this month with all these transits.
This New Moon is at 2 degrees Libra and making an opposition to Jupiter in Aries.
Jupiter is literally the best planet ever - it represents money, happiness, luck, optimism, and expansion. So even the "challenging" aspects are still good. Making this a very lucky New Moon.
Also, this New Moon is trining Par De Fortune in Gemini - which is very lucky as well and speaks to financial gain. Libra is of course ruled by Venus which is money.
Not to mention this New Moon is also conjunct Vertex in Libra - making this energy very FATED. Especially in relationships.
If you have any placements in Cardinal Signs (Libra, Aries, Cancer, Capricorn) around 2 degrees - you'll be feeling this energy more intensely.
On the 26th the Sun in Libra opposes Jupiter in Aries. Again, we're bringing in the luck.
Venus and Mars also begin to trine Saturn around this time of the month. This prompts us to see a long-term stable vision.
To wrap up the month, Venus will enter Libra on the 29th. Just when you thought we were done with the relationship focus.
Overall, there's a lot of reflection this month. Use this month to reflect and rest because October has a lot of BIG transits including Mars Retrograde and the eclipses.
